Department of Political Science and International Relations

Department of Political Science started its official activity in 2007 by accepting students in the Bachelor's degree in Political Science. In continuation of its activity, this group has established two master's degree programs: International Relations (2009), Political Science (2020), and a P.h.D degree program in International Relations (2011). This Department has 174 undergraduate students, 115 master's students, and 31 P.h.D students in the academic year of 2021-2022. Currently, the Department of Political Science and International Relations has 7 faculty members.

    The faculty members of the Department of Political Science and International Relations have expertise in the following subjects: Iran's foreign policy - the region and the world, political economy, political thought in Iran - the Islamic world and the West, international organizations, international relations and international ideas. To be this group has well-educated and well-known people in the field of political science who, while doing research in this field, are interested in presenting their knowledge to the students of this field.

    World Politics
    The Quarterly Journal of World Politics is published in collaboration with the Department of Political Science of the University of Guilan, Rasht, Iran and the Iranian Association of International Relations.
