The first international and second biennial national conference on "Manifestations of Iranian-Islamic Arts in Culture, Science, and Documents," a prestigious event in the field of arts within universities and academic institutions, is scheduled to take place in the winter of 2026. This forthcoming conference aims to provide a platform for scholars, university professors, and students across various art disciplines to engage in theoretical discussions, share academic knowledge, and exchange perspectives on an international level. The first conference, which took place at the University of Guilan in the winter of 2019, was well-received both in terms of quantity and quality of submissions, with a total of 313 articles received from 94 universities and higher education institutions. Some noteworthy achievements of the conference include the indexing of articles in reputable national and international citation databases, the publication of a selection of articles in renowned academic journals, and the endorsement and support of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as various accredited Iranian organizations and universities such as the Iranian Academy of Arts, Astan Quds, Iran University of Art, Art University of Isfahan, Shahid Beheshti University, and approximately 90 other educational institutions. The University of Guilan, serving as the permanent administrative department of the conference, is recognized as a prestigious university in the northern region of Iran. It maintains close academic relations with the members of the Association of State Universities of Caspian Sea Region Countries (ASUCSRC), ranks within the top one percent of global universities based on assessments from internationally recognized ranking systems such as ARWU, THE, and Leiden, and is furthermore regarded as one of the top ten universities in Iran. Given Iran's shared border with the Russian Federation and its proximity to Central Asian, Caucasus, and Eurasian nations, the arts and architecture faculty of the University of Guilan aims to direct the main objectives of its upcoming conference towards examining the correspondence, effects, and comparative studies of Iranian Islamic arts with the aforementioned regions, showcasing the outcomes of scholarly investigations conducted by academic institutions, archives, and documentation centers on this subject matter. The University of Guilan, as the leading institution, has diligently undertaken a comprehensive examination of the various needs pertaining to a deeper understanding of the connections and interactions between Iran and the Russian Federation, central Asia, the Caucasus, and Eurasia. In recent years, the university has focused on exploring and reassessing the shared cultural heritage of this region, alongside its associated disciplines, in order to foster stronger relationships among individuals of diverse ethnic backgrounds within this geographical area, as well as with individuals from across the globe. Similarly, the unique approach of the conference on "Manifestations of Iranian Islamic Arts in Culture, Science, and Documents" aims to enhance scholarly exchange among Iran, Russia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Eurasia, publish research findings from both Iran and international sources, and foster a cultural bond between Iran and these regions through art. Recognizing the profound interconnectedness, and employing the expertise of esteemed faculty members from universities in Iran, Russia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Eurasia, this conference strives to serve as a forum for cultural dialogues by publishing pertinent research in the field of arts.
