Department of Computer Science

About

Department of Computer Science at University of Guilan was founded in 2016 and is offering undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science) in Computer Science. The main office of the department of Computer Science is located in the second floor of the building of faculty of Mathematical Sciences in the old campus of University of Guilan. Currently, the department has five full-time faculty members.
In this department, we are aiming at teaching, carrying out research and conducting projects related to the domain of computer science including theoretical computer science, scientific computing, soft computing, data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Our roadmap is to prepare the students to pursue their study in graduate programs or being recruited in R&Ds or industries.

Department Values and Operating Principles
Computer science can be considered as a multidisciplinary field and constructs a theoretical basis towards launching the practical disciplines. The courses which are offered by us are developed in such a way to address the latter issues. Since the data science and more specifically Artificial Intelligence are currently hot topics in science, we are planning to create a fruitful basis for further development and expansion of the ideas to address the needs in the aforementioned fields. Therefore, we are continuously analyzing the society needs and technological demands in order to keep our knowledge and skills in both theoretical and practical directions updated.
