The Persian Language Education Center for Non-Persian Speakers (AZFA) at the University of Guilan has been recognized as one of the nation's leading centers following a specialized evaluation conducted by the Student Affairs Organization of Iran's Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
The comprehensive assessment was based on 13 key performance indicators, including physical infrastructure, the center's position within the university's organizational structure, human resources and faculty, educational resources and textbooks, curriculum and academic assessment, online instruction, international cooperation, business development and revenue generation, cultural and Iranology programs, as well as the center's role in promoting the Persian language and literature.
Based on this evaluation, Persian language centers of the universities were classified into five categories: Centers of Excellence and Reference (Outstanding), Leading Centers (Very Good), Active and Developing Centers (Good), Consolidating Centers (Average), and Centers Requiring Restructuring (Weak). With a score of 4 out of 5, the University of Guilan's AZFA Center was ranked among the "Leading Centers" alongside nine of the country's top universities.
Established in 2018 (1397) as the first AZFA Center in northern Iran, the University of Guilan's Persian Language Education Center has played a significant role in introducing the Persian language and Iranian culture to international students by offering a wide range of educational programs.
