During the 28th General Assembly of the Association of the State Universities of the Caspian Region, held in Kazakhstan, Dr. Ali Basti, President of the University of Guilan, met with Jafar Zamani, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Aktau.  The meeting focused on drawing on the university’s academic and educational resources to expand Persian language instruction and broaden the activities of Iran House.

During the meeting, Dr. Basti outlined the University of Guilan’s academic and educational capabilities and expressed the university’s readiness to explore and pursue opportunities for cooperation in Persian language education. He also stressed the importance of pooling resources and expertise to advance joint cultural and academic programs.

Jafar Zamani pointed to Iran House’s role in promoting the Persian language and Iranian culture. He also noted the need to strengthen the center’s Persian language programs and maintain their continuity, adding that the University of Guilan’s faculty expertise could play an important role in achieving these goals.

Other topics discussed included expanding Iran House’s activities, strengthening its educational programs, facilitating faculty exchanges, and leveraging the expertise of university faculty members to support Persian language instruction.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to pursue opportunities for cooperation between the University of Guilan and Iran House in Aktau, with the aim of expanding educational activities and deepening academic ties between faculty members and students from the two countries. The partnership is expected to enhance the center’s educational programs through the university’s academic support.
