The 27th Annual Meeting of the 27th General Assembly of the Association of the State Universities of the Caspian sea Region Countries, themed “Caspian Ecosystem: Integrating Science and Education,” was held at Atyrau State University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov, with the participation of Dr. Ali Basti, the Chancellor of the University of Guilan. 

The Association, comprising 64 member universities and research centers from Iran, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Turkmenistan, has served for nearly three decades as a platform for advancing scientific, educational, and cultural cooperation among 5 regional countries. The University of Guilan serves as the Iranian Secretariat of the Association and coordinates the activities of its Iranian members. 

Notably, key activities of the Chancellor of the University of Guilan during the meeting included: 

- Negotiations with presidents of member universities from Caspian Region countries; 

- Making a speech at the General Assembly; 

- Speaking at the festival ceremony of the 85th anniversary of founding of Atyrau State University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov; 

- Visiting Atyrau Oil and Gas University named after Safi Utebayev

- Visiting the Persian Language Center at Atyrau State University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov; 

- Signing three memorandam of cooperation with member universities of the Union.​​​​​​​
