In line with expanding international scientific cooperation, a memorandum of understanding for joint collaboration was signed by Dr. Ali Basti, Chancellor of the University of Guilan, and Dr. Badma Salaev, Rector of Kalmykia State University.
The MoU, signed on the sidelines of the 27th General Assembly of the Association of the State Universities of the Caspian sea Region Countries, stipulates that both parties will establish the necessary frameworks to facilitate direct communication and scientific-educational collaboration among faculty members, faculties, and academic departments for activities in shared fields of interest.
Key provisions of the MoU include holding bilateral scientific meetings, workshops, and conferences; creating opportunities for exchange programs; launching joint educational courses; conducting joint research projects; and more.
Kalmykia State University, one of Russia’s oldest universities, is located in Elista, Republic of Kalmykia. As a member of the Union of Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian Littoral Countries, it is active in various academic disciplines. Recently, it has established new research centers, such as the Center for Domestic Animal Reproduction, which focuses on biotechnology technologies for reproducing native breeds like Kalmyk cattle. The center’s primary goals are to preserve and improve the genetic quality of domestic livestock, increase productivity, address seasonal challenges, and contribute to sustainable agricultural development.
