The Central Laboratory of the University of Guilan has successfully upgraded its international ISO/IEC 17025 certification. The upgrade forms part of the University’s comprehensive strategy to expand specialized, knowledge-based services at provincial, regional, and international levels. It also supports efforts to strengthen institutional branding and develop dedicated revenue streams.

The expanded accreditation now covers more than 1,100 tests and 145 products across a wide range of fields, including food and agriculture, chemistry and polymers, microbiology, biology, textiles, fibers and cellulose, paper and cardboard, mechanics, and metallurgy.

The significance of this accreditation has further increased following Iran’s accession to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) agreement. As a result, the findings of laboratories accredited by the Iran National Accreditation Center are recognized in more than 110 countries, substantially facilitating exports for standardized units.

Equipped with advanced instrumentation, technical expertise, and specialized personnel, the Central Laboratory plays a key role in enhancing product quality, supporting economic development, and promoting public health. This development is consistent with the University’s commitment to social responsibility and its cooperation with regulatory and governmental bodies, including the National Standards Organization, the Customs Administration, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Department of Environmental Protection.

In addition to providing scientific services to students, faculty members, researchers, and scientific and industrial centers nationwide, the Laboratory is prepared to enter into contracts and collaborations with merchants, industrial companies, and executive agencies at provincial, national, and international levels.
